Chikhladara

This is the place where Bheema killed Keechaka in a Herculean bout and then threw him into the valley. the sole hil resort is situated at an altitude of 1118 m and has the added dimension of being the only coffee - growing area in Maharashtra. The scenic beauty of Chikhladara can be viewed from Hurricane point, prospect point, and Devi point. It abounds in wildlife i.e. panthers bears, Samber and wild dogs.

Chikhladara has an annual rainfall of 154 cms. Temperature vary from 39 C in summer to 5 C in winter October to June is the best time to visit.

Reaching There:

The nearest railhead is Badnera on the Central Railway branch line, 110 kms. Chikhaldara, 763 kms from Mumbai, is connected to most major cities by road. Regular ST buses connect Chikhaldara to Amravati, Nagpur, Wardha, Akola and other cities
